On February 6, 2025, Rakeyzah Interactive proudly marked the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in collaboration with the Saleema Initiative, launched by the National Council for Child Welfare and UNICEF.

The day began with a Mandala workshop, where children expressed their dreams through art, followed by a clay workshop, where they shaped symbols of strength and resilience. Women also took part in the "Craft & Chat" session, engaging in meaningful conversations while creating handcrafted pieces. Meanwhile, the "Window of Hope" was filled with the wishes of young girls for a future free from fear, lighting the way toward lasting change.

The event continued at the Air Defense School, where children and youth delivered interactive puppet and dance performances, sharing the Saleema message in creative and engaging ways.

As the day came to a close, hundreds of participants took to the streets in a powerful march, raising their voices for justice, equality, and the end of FGM. The celebration concluded with the "Tales of Thread and Beads" exhibition, featuring handicrafts made by:

  • Women from Port Sudan
  • Displaced women in shelters
  • Refugees from South Sudan
  • Women from Port Sudan Prison

Each piece reflected a journey of struggle, resilience, and hope, telling powerful stories of survival and empowerment. For those who couldn’t attend, the exhibition will remain open for a week.
